Thanksgiving and Christmas 2014

Nate, Amy & family were coming to Salt Lake to spend Thanksgiving with his family. We decided to go with Lisa & Ron to see them.   Ron drove as we had just returned from our trip to Portland to get Scott.   We took the Expedition as Ali and Andy wanted to ride back with us so they could pick up the new jeep she had waiting for her.

           Alan & Kim invited us to have Thanksgiving dinner with         them and it was very delicious..  We had a good time with them.  

Garry was busy making Clam Chowder and Chili during the week.  They both turned out quite delicious.  We had 19 people for dinner.  Scott & Rae Ann went to Sun Valley so we missed them. Kent, JoAnna, Jason, Rachael & Cooper came.  Lisa & Ron, Ali, Amber, Keenan, Leila, Shane and Owen were here.  Keenan's parents, Donna and Barry Wallace came, the two sister missionaries that are staying with Lisa & Ron came and Garry & I.   We missed getting a picture of Jason & Rachael & Kent & JoAnna.

My Brother Lyle - 2014

My brother Lyle had been ill for several weeks.  We left for Idaho Falls on October 28th.  We stayed at the Marriott Fairfield Inn. It was a very nice room.  We went to the hospital to spend some time with him.  He could hardly talk but I am pretty sure he recognized me one time.  I will post some pictures..some from previous times and some from the present.  He passed away about 8 PM Oct. 30th.  Out of 9 children I am the only one left now.  It makes me very sad.  We spent time with him in the hospital on the 29th and then came home.  We went to Idaho Falls again on November 4th for the viewing and the funeral on Nov 5th.

Interesting pictures

This picture wasn't taken by us.  I think it was from a professional photographer in Hawaii.  It happened on October 8, 2014.  We did see the eclipse out of our back window about 4 AM.

We didn't get a picture.

We were very fortunate to take this picture as the bird was only there for a few minutes before it flew away.  We think it is a Crane but we are not sure.  

When it flew away, the wingspan was really huge.

     
                                       The full moon was only visible for about 4 days. 
                           It was taken out of our back window early in the 
                           morning and was very beautiful.
